Rates and Pricing
Every time a customer uses a credit or debit card in your store, a fee is charged by the cardholder’s bank. This fee can vary greatly, depending on which type of cards are being used by your customers and whether the payment is being made in person, with a chip, swiping a card, or made over the phone or online. These fees are determined by card brands based on your industry type and these rates are subject to changes every year.
Peace of Mind
The credit card, payment processing, and merchant processing industry is complex, and that complexity can be used against unsuspecting merchants. We believe in processing done right, with integrity and transparency.
Qualified rates are applied to debit cards and non-reward credit card transactions that are swiped or inserted via the chip reader. Non-qualified rates are applied to corporate cards, high-reward credit cards, international cards, and card-not-present transactions.
Variable Rate or Interchange Plus
The fee applied by the credit card companies, plus the processor's markup. The markup is usually in Basis Points, represented by a percentage.
Surcharge Rate
This allows the merchant to pass on its merchant processing fees to the customer. Which usually results in a 3-4% fee added to the end of the transaction that covers the merchant's processing fees.
